Caffe Nero Group Plc is currently the largest independent coffee retailer in the UK, with over 100 stores from Brighton to Glasgow. Nero provides a real Italian coffee house experience, offering quality, authentic Italian food products and a relaxing atmosphere in every store. We have just been rated rated as the best UK Coffee House for the third year running (Allegra Report 2002, the UKs definitive guide for the coffee industry).
Traditionally we recruit for Store Managers & Baristas, but have recently developed a Fast-Track scheme for Store Managers:
Fast-track Trainee Store Managers
This scheme has been developed for Supervisors or Assistant Managers, frustrated at their lack of development. The aim is to support those already at a supervisory or number two level to develop quickly to the level of Store Manager.
We do this through a 3-month on-the-job programme equipping trainees with the full raft of skills required to manage a Nero store ultimately from the floor. Once theyve completed the scheme they go onto our succession plan for when a store comes up thats suitable.
Store Managers
Our bars create a community feel, and a shared passion and we need our Managers to understand the importance of quality coffee and quality time in peoples lives.
Our managers are instinctive, intuitive. They play a pivotal role in orchestrating the atmosphere of their bars, standing shoulder to shoulder with their teams.
Baristas
Our Baristas are the heart of the operation, making perfect cappuccinos, lattes and espressos whilst helping to create that classic Nero atmosphere. They need to be passionate about customer service and love working in a busy team.
