Giraffe...Our aim is to provide great food and value and the highest standard of service in a positive and friendly environment. That's what we try to achieve every minute of every day.

Global Food...a little bit of the best from around the world - influences from Asia, Australia, Africa, Europe and the Americas.

Food...at giraffe to strive to break down barriers in everything we do. The emphasis of the giraffe menu is on sharing, healthy and ethical eating for now and the future. Our menu is supplemented by weekly specials that are a very important part of our food style, it gives us flexibility to try new things! There are no barriers to our style of cooking. Our dishes are traditionally prepared, we use the best ingredients and always give great value to our customers. It's about choice - you can have comfort food, healthy food, lots of food, a snack, just a juice or a great cappuccino - come and eat the world with us!

World Music...we play and sell 'Putumayo World Music', introducing our customers to music of other cultures and expanding awareness of exceptional under-exposed artists. It's a musical adventure - if it helps you imagine yourself on a beach drinking cocktails then it's working its magic. It "guarantees to make you feel good".

Coffee...we take our coffee very seriously! We have our coffee roasted and blended just for us by Union Coffee Roasters. Only our trained baristas are allowed to use our coffee machines. They're all trained in how to make the perfect cup! Watch them make a cappuccino - you'll understand why we feel it's the best coffee in town.

The Service...we're well known for our food & coffee, child friendliness, music and our bright and clean environments, but we're perhaps best known for our service and this reputation we are trusting to all new recruits. Whether it's the charm with which you serve the customers or the quality and urgency with which you deliver the food from the kitchen, it's the combination of everyone's work that gives the giraffe experience. Kids...we're not a kids restaurant although families and kids are a big part of our business. Never easy but a lot of fun and it's what we do. The family friendliness was not the original idea - it probably resulted from our no-smoking policy.

History & the Future...we started in Hampstead, North London in the summer of '98 a non-smoking café serving great food and music all day long. Weve been growing and getting stronger ever since and can now also be found in Hampstead, Marylebone, Islington, Battersea, Chiswick, Richmond, Kensington, Muswell Hill, Wimbledon, Royal Festival Hall, Spitalfields & Heathrow Terminal 1 (franchise) opening soon in the Brunswick Centre WC1, Milton Keynes and Manchester.

Our aim is to continue with new and exciting sites both in high street positions and more destinational locations. Slowly but surely is our way of growing. We'll only open more restaurants when we find the right sites and have great people to look after them!

Giraffe people understand that success comes from us all pushing in the same direction. We believe that good is never good enough. We celebrate accomplishments but are never satisfied. We try to be modest and self-disciplined individuals who produce extra-ordinary results not excuses. We have loyalty to each other and encourage a no blame culture. It's not about skills, it's about attitude.

Training Life...the most important on-going investment in any organisation is in the people who work for it. Since every interaction between our staff and our customers affects the reputation we are building, we need our staff to know what they're doing. The benefits of a well trained and motivated staff filter down to the customer very quickly.

Our training is designed to ensure that our staff gain the skills, knowledge and experience that they need to do their jobs. Good training brings greater consistency, a higher level of confidence and leaves us better placed to realise our goals.

We want our employees to enjoy themselves. We don.t take ourselves seriously but we take what we do very seriously. Have fun, live, love, eat & work at giraffe! Think giraffe...be happy!
