| | Job Description To assist all areas of the hotel interior and exterior, with general maintenance work allocated by the Property Department or through a service request system.
Requirements Experience:- Capable of handyman duties with some experience in basic electrics, carpentry, painting and plumbing- To be able to work within a team and unsupervised. - To be neat and tidy in appearance and have a good personality.Education or Certification - Good level of English
Responsibilities 1. Develop knowledge of hotel structure, fixtures, fittings and plant.2. Understand the Hotel's fire and safety procedures. To undergo training in all fire and security measures every quarter. 3. Complete and sign for Daily, Weekly and Monthly Checks in the Property folder ? NB Checklists are to remain in the Chief Engineers Office in the Property folder.4. Complete all tasks and / or follow up work with the correct response procedures.5. Collect allocated Maintenance Tasks from the property office and complete maintenance works in an efficient manner and to the required standard.6. Ensure that any tasks that cannot be completed within the agreed time scale or outstanding problems are handed over to the property office, Duty Manager or other members of the team as appropriate and recorded in the Property Day Diary. 7. Ensure that information relating to maintenance works is communicated as appropriate with other departments within the hotel.8. Ensure that all tools and equipment are returned to the workshops / storage areas at the end of each shift or once works completed and to maintain all maintenance storage and work areas in a clean and tidy state.9. Inform the property office of any spare parts that may run out normally held in stock for day to day operations so that items may be reordered in time to receive replacements before stocks are exhausted and so that par stock levels are maintained.10. Bring to the attention of the property office any materials or equipment not held in stock or out of stock that are required in order to complete works, so that they may be ordered as appropriate.11. To be security conscious at all times in particular with regard to keys and occupied rooms and ensure that plant rooms, store rooms dry risers etc. for which the Property Department are responsible are secured (locked) appropriately.12. Report to the Chief Engineer, or Duty Manager in there absence, if you wish to leave the building at any time.13. To be ?on call' out of normal working hours when required.14. Carry out other duties within the general scope and purpose of the job, so designated by the Property Office.15. Adhere to all procedures as specified by the Property Office.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. To comply with all rules and regulations as laid down in the Employee Handbook and ensure Marriott Standards are maintained within your department / areas of responsibility.2. To be aware of and comply with the Company's Health and Safety Policy and always maintain safe working practices.3. To maintain a constant awareness of security throughout the hotel and immediately report anything or anyone suspicious to your Departmental Manager or the Duty Manager.4. To be responsible for any keys with which you are issued and ensure that key control procedures are complied with and any loss of key reported immediately to your Departmental Manager or the Duty Manager.5. To maintain the highest standards of personal appearance, dress and hygiene at all times and ensure that the correct uniform is worn whenever on duty.6. To attend Training Courses connected with your work when requested to do so.7. To assist departmental colleagues and other departments in their duties whenever necessary and comply with any reasonable request from a member of Management.
