| | Job Description To be responsible in conjunction with the Operations Manager, for the interview, selection, induction, training, development and appraisal of all banqueting associates, and for all aspects of their welfare including weekly rotas and holiday entitlements. Work with the Conference & Banqueting Team to ensure that the highest standards of service are delivered to our customers and members. This will be achieved through the Balanced Scorecard by regular team working, and acting as a role model for continuous improvement.
Requirements Experience:. Previous experience working within a Food & Beverage or similar environment preferredSkills and Knowledge . Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing). Innovative. Pro-active and reliable. Able to work alone and within a team. Teamwork and Team Leadership. Customer Focus. Strong customer development and relationship management skills. Effective decision making skills. Financial management skills e.g., ability to analyze P&L statements, manage labor productivity, develop operating budgets, forecasting and capital expenditure planning. Strong customer and associate relation skills. Basic legal knowledge related to hotel operations. ability to use standard software applications and hotel systems. knowledge of purchasing, inventory controls, supplies and equipment. knowledge of overall hotel operations as they effect department
Responsibilities Principle AccountabilitiesØ To recruit, train and develop the Banqueting Team to ensure members and guests receive consistently high service standards.Ø To train all Supervisors Billing and Procedures. Plus ensuring all supervisors are trained on Marriott Brand Standards and Department specific standards to ensure consistent service standards are delivered as measured by Guest Satisfaction Survey (GSS) and ViewsØ To conduct regular structured briefing sessions with the team to ensure they are always fully aware of what is happening in the restaurant and around the hotel.Ø To provide feedback to team members on their performance ? formally every 6 months ensuring that the better performers are rewarded and that all the team members have key tasks and a development plan which will enable them to achieve agreed objectives.Ø To achieve and wherever possible exceed the Balance Scorecard Targets.Ø To work with the kitchen team to ensure that the menu items are reviewed in line with guest comments and ensure that the team is fully involved with new menu implementation.Ø To attend departmental meetings and management meetings as and when required.Ø To be aware of and adhere to all legislative requirements particularly in relation to Health and Safety and ensure all others within your area do the same to comply with requirements.Ø Payroll and productivity ? Labour Scheduling.Ø To listen to the Leisure members feedback and plan and organise events over the year for members in the conference department.Ø Contracts ? Clients relevant information is gathered at earliest stage, function info is given to relevant departments, recorded in hand over book. Hotel requirements from external suppliers are provided for.Ø Exhibitions - all agreed client requirements are within the bounds of local legislation and agreed with client.Ø Product maintenance of banqueting equipment, preparation, service and storage areas.Ø Adequate precautions are taken to safe guard the property of the client and hotel during, prior to and following all banqueting functions.Ø Duty management as required by the hotel management. To be aware of security, health and safety and management responsibilities of the designated manager on duty.
