Scope and Purpose

Under the direction of the Front Office Manager, and within the limits of Claridge’s policies and procedures, as the Front Office Training Officer you will develop, implement and organise off-job and on-job Training for new and existing staff at all levels in Front Office.

As the Front Office Training Officer you will identify all the training needs for the team and department and monitor and record all training carried out. You will have a great passion for the hospitality sector and exceeding exceptional service standards, while being creative within the role, to continually improve all Standards and Procedures. The Front Office Training Officer will ensure that the service is under constant evaluation to exceed guest requirements at all times.

Main Duties

You will be responsible for preparing all personalised programme for new employees ensuring they fit in with both the needs of the business and the individual’s development requirements.

Your role will ensure that you carry out initial computer training for employees on basic tasks in their specific position. To include SMS, Guest History and our reservation systems to ensure an efficient and professional skilled service prior to joining the desk. You will then continue to evaluate the individual staff requirements to help with development when required.

The role will also give a buddy system support function, to allow the team member to have a contact at all times for assistance and support 

The Front Office Training Officer role will be a mix of Office based and Operational to ensure that a full understanding of this business needs are maintained at all time. As the Front Office Training Officer you will cover training requirements for Reception, Guest Relations, Concierge and Switchboard.

Entry Requirements

We are looking for a strong, motivated individual, who has worked in a similar role within the hospitality or travel and tourism industry, or may have worked at a senior level within the Front Office Team.

Some basic training experience in a previous role is essential as well as having evaluated previous team performances. The Front Office Training Officer will have worked at another 5* Property or a business with a Similar level of service standards.

The person will be a team player who is adaptable and has exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
