Entry Requirements

Only applicants who are highly experienced as an established Assistant or Executive Head Housekeeper in the luxury market will be considered for this post.

With great people management skills and as a member of the executive planning committee you will need to be a team player who is adaptable and has exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. You will also require an excellent command of the English language, be enthusiastic and totally passionate about hospitality.

Other skills that will need to be demonstrated include:

  • Ability to prioritise and delegate when necessary
  • Ability to maintain composure and multi task whilst working under pressure
  • Ability to maintain high standards of verbal and written communication in a pressurised environment
  • Management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent customer care skills

Scope and Purpose

As Executive Head Housekeeper you will oversee the efficient running of the housekeeping department consisting of a current team of 35 employees increasing to approximately 50 + employees once the Connaught has completed its restoration project.

The Connaught, having completed the major part of the refurbishment project enters into the final phase with the addition of a new wing this will consist of 33 guest rooms and suites as well as a 520sqm spa and swimming pool. In the role of Executive Head Housekeeper you will be instrumental in coordinating and managing this project with both the Chief Engineer and Front of House Manager.

The Executive Head Housekeeper will be responsible for all disciplines within the department, including the effective and efficient running of the linen room, public areas, cloakroom, maid teams, night teams, pressing and valet services.

You will be responsible for supervising, motivating and organising the Housekeeping employees and the daily operations.

As Executive Head Housekeeper your role will also involve maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and efficiency ensuring that all of the core standards are implemented and adhered to in every one of our bedrooms and public areas.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To be responsible for the budget and profitability with the department
  • To ensure that the Connaught standards and procedures as well as health and safety procedures are monitored and adhered to by all the team members
  • To consistently monitor the staff’s performance and permanent training on the job. To adapt training and coaching for team in conjunction with debrief.
