The Exciting Opportunity

Reporting to the Sous Chef, the Chef de Partie is a highly responsible supervisory role in the kitchen team at the hotel. You work across the hotel’s kitchen areas, including the restaurant, wine bar and banqueting, and be involved in a wide array of responsibilities, from creating amazing food to managing the team.

Duties include:

  • Understanding and adhering to the company’s rules and regulations on policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health & safety and licensing regulations.
  • Ensuring a safe working environment identifying potential hazards and taking corrective action.
  • Managing various sections of the kitchen and ensuring agreed standards are achieved
  • To assist other sections of the kitchen in the production and service of food or the cleaning down of the section as and when required due to the workload
  • Ensuring that all working areas of the kitchen, dry stores and refrigeration are maintained in a clean and hygienic condition at all times,
  • Maintaining constant quality control of all food prepared and cooked, ensuring it is to the Head Chef’s and applicable kitchen standards.

What Are We Looking For?

We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

  • Food service.
  • Team player who can be flexible and happy to both cover shifts and work in other areas as part of their weekly rota structure.
  • Previous experience in a similar role in a four- or five-star environment desirable.

N.B.

  • This role pays £28,000 per annum.

Where Will You Be Working?

The Westin London City Hotel & Residences is a key part of the redevelopment of the former Queensbridge House site, as well as an independently operated destination restaurant. The site stretches from Queenhithe Dock – the oldest in London – and runs north to south, bridging across Upper Thames Street and giving it a prominent position over one of the primary arterial routes through the City of London. Highly visible from the South Bank, the hotel benefits from panoramic views over the River Thames and completes the northern riverbank walkway between the Tower of London and Millennium Bridge.

The hotel is the first under Marriott’s Westin brand in the UK. The hotel’s 222 guest rooms, including 10 suites and Presidential Suite, are designed to offer guests a nature-inspired respite in the centre of a bustling city, expertly balancing a calming palette of natural colours with contrasting tones, textures and materials. The development also includes a fitness and leisure suite, conference facilities, plus a restaurant and wine bar with spectacular views over the River Thames.

The hotel features an indoor swimming pool, idyllic 375m² spa and WestinWORKOUT® fitness studio with state-of-the-art TRX® exercise equipment. In addition, 830m² of ultra-modern meeting and event space is available, including a Junior Ballroom and four meeting rooms, as well as a 24-hour business centre.
