People & Culture Manager ** New Opening Hotel ** Canopy by Hilton London City

We have an exciting opportunity for a People & Culture Manager to join the opening team at Canopy London City.

Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, the People & Culture Manager will play a key role providing support to the people operations of the hotel and the day to day running of our vibrant HR department focusing on the entire employee experience from onboarding, induction, engagement, recruitment & retention, training & development, and well-being.

About the role

  • Support all recruitment and selection activities
  • Drive our training and development culture for all employees
  • Work closely with management team to embed our Canopy culture playbook
  • Implement creative engagement and well-being activities
  • Assist building positive relationships with schools, colleges, and universities
  • Support managing our HR/Payroll systems
  • Being responsive and proactive communicating effectively
  • Collaborate and be able to work effectively as a part of a team or independently

About you

We are looking for a motivated HR Enthusiast who we anticipate will have at least 2 years’ experience as HR Officer/Advisor within hospitality preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand. You will be a fast learner, adaptable and passionate about creating a fun and inclusive environment. Pre-opening experience is a plus!

In addition, to be successful in this role you will need:

  • Sound HR generalist knowledge
  • Previous training experience
  • Ability to work under pressure, remain calm
  • Comfortable handling people matters
  • Look at every situation from the bright side
  • Confident, professional, and welcoming personality
  • You must have the right to live and work in the UK to be eligible for this role
